Reply Instructions

You may use some basic BB-Code tags in your posts. HTML-code will not work; it will show up as written.

You can use following BB-Code tags:

[b] [/b] - strong text
[u] [/u] - underlinded text
[i] [/i] - italics text
[url][/url] - inserts a link
[img][/img] - inserts an image
[quote][/quote] - surrounds a quote
[font=*] [/font] - uses font *
[color=*] [/color] - uses colour *

You can use all tags simply by surrounding the text to be formatted with the tags, for instance: [b]strong[/b] shows up as strong.

The [url] tag can be used in two ways.
[url]http://mb.eternityproject.net[/url] shows up as: http://mb.eternityproject.net.
[url=http://http://mb.eternityproject.net]mBoars website[/url] shows up as: mBoars website.

By surrounding a link that points to an image with [img] tags, the image will show up in your message. The image will be linked to the original image automatically. It will also be resized if it exceeds 200 x 200 px. For instance [img]http://www.google.fi/images/logo_sm.gif[/img] shows up as :
logo_sm.gif

Use of [quote]-tags

Clickin the quote icon in the top right corner of every message will produce a following kind of a text in the reply box at the bottom of the page:

[quote=2434]
 Contents of the message to be quoted
[/quote]
, where the number after quote is the ID of the post to be quoted. When used like this, as a result you will see a quote with a link to the original post, for instance:

Some Guy wrote:
hey! This works!

You can also use [quote] -tag without the id.

For instance, [quote=johnny]Hmm... dunno if this works...[/quote], shows up as:

johnny wrote:
Hmm... dunno if this works...

So without a link to the original message.

Use of [font]-tags

If you wish to produce text in some other font than the default, you can use [font] tag for this.

For instance, text with Times New Roman -font can be produced like this:

[font=times new roman]This text is rather difficult to read[/font] shows up as:
This text is rather difficult to read

Emoticons

If you have enabled the use of emoticons in your Control Panel, certain text emoticons will be parsed as images automatically.

These emoticons are in use:
:) => :)
:( => :(
:D => :D
:o => :o
:P => :P
:/ => :/

Emoticons are to be written with no spaces between the letters and separated from other words, so that they can be parsed automatically.

Use of [color]-tags

With [color]-tag you can produce coloured text.

You can use either the hex-values of colours, or their English (en-US) names.
[font=00CC00]greenish[/font] shows up as: greenish
[font=pink]pinkish[/font] shows up as: pinkish

Note, that not all colour names are supported by browsers, so it is always better to use the hex values, if it is known.

Search instructions

To find messages or threads from the forums, you may do a search for multiple search words. To narrow down your search, you can use the following operators among your search words:

+
A plus -sign in front of a word makes the word compulsory, i.e the word must be among the results.

-
A minus -sign negates a word, i.e the word cannot be found among the results.

( )
You can group operators and words with parentheses.

" "
Surrounding phrases with quotes, you make the search literal, i.e the results must contain the words in the order and form as written.

*
Star marks a wildcard. It will search for any words that begin with the part that precedes the star.

Typing all search words separated with spaces and with no operators will search for any results containing from one to all search words.
